Watch the deer as they graze at the river’s edge and walk through town. Bernie’s has undergone major upgrades both inside and out, and is a delightful place to stay.
Stretch your legs on miles of hiking or ski trails just a ten-minute walk away. Enjoy mountain biking, golfing, fishing, bird watching, whitewater rafting, snowmobile trail riding, snowshoeing, and dog sledding. Many ski trails are now open for fat-tire biking as well... and Winthrop’s ice rink is now refrigerated.
It is only 3 blocks to the old west Winthrop boardwalk shops and eateries. There are 2 charming walking suspension bridges to cross the Chewuch River and the Methow River.
Bernie’s is a cozy original 1920s Winthrop River cabin that just had a 5 1/2-month-long facelift. The living room now faces the river with incredible views up and down the Chewuch River. The cabin has two bedrooms, one with a King bed, one with a Queen bed, and one bath. It provides lodging for up to 4 guests. It features a private deck with a barbecue and picnic table overlooking the Chewuch River, charming wood floors, and a gas fireplace. There is a smart TV, washer/dryer, pull-chain toilet, and it welcomes well-behaved pets with responsible owners.

Cute property. Good value.
We think Winthrop is the best place to stay in the North Cascades! Such a cute little town with lots of amenities. The cabin was fantastic. Very peaceful and quiet with great views of the river from the deck.

Great communication and flexibility from host. House worked great, comfortable and in a great location right in the middle of Winthrop. Beds and pillows are very comfortable... which is definitely not the case with a lot of places.
We had a great time! an adorable cozy interior, loved the fireplace and if I hadn't had a broken foot, walking into town wouldn't have been a big deal! The sound of the river was epic as well.

We love Bernies and think of it as our home away from home. Stayed here many times for the week before Thanksgiving and that kitchen can really make a great Beef Wellington and Turkey. This year there was a small problem with the fireplace and it was taken care of immediately and with a great attitude. We are so fortunate to have found this wonderful small home on the bluff. The fireplace is wonderful, the deck is great and the layout works so well for us. Thank you for renting Bernies on the Bluff.
This home was so cute and had such a great location. It was VERY clean and the outdoor space overlooking the river was lovely. I wished we had spent more time there. I loved staying there with my family and would stay again in the future.

This is a lovely cozy cabin with a nice view above the river. It's a short walk into downtown or over a fun bridge to walking trails on the other side of the river. The decorations and retro kitchen vibe is fun too. We will definitely stay here again!
What a great place! The backyard is right next to the creek/river water. Deer were visible everyday. The place has board games and full kitchen. Plenty of towels. Washer and dryer was nice to have. The dishwater was perfect. Such a great stay! Thank you!
This quirky place was a lovely quiet respite from the busyness of the everyday. The balcony out the back overlooking the river was perfect for reading, eating and contemplating. It was quick and convenient to walk into town and the scenery was beautiful.
We had a great time. Management company was quick to address a minor maintenance issue. Great view of the river out back!
