This cabin was originally built in the 1960s using logs and lumber harvested from the surrounding forest. As one of the first structures in the Edelweiss area, it began as a hunter’s camp—complete with a horse corral for trips into the backcountry. Years later, it was thoughtfully remodeled from a rustic shelter into a cozy, comfortable getaway.

Set among open woods with views of Lucky Jim Bluff, the property is bordered by Fawn Creek, which tumbles down the hillside from early spring through late summer, filling the air with the soothing sound of cascading water.

Inside Fawn Creek Hideaway you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen stocked with cookware, spices, a dishwasher, microwave, and a laundry room with washer/dryer. A sunny enclosed breakfast nook and open living room with a gas fireplace create a welcoming space to relax. The upstairs bedroom, perched among the trees like a private treehouse, features a queen bed and ensuite bathroom. Downstairs, another queen bedroom with sliding glass doors opens onto the deck. For extra guests, a queen sofa bed is available in the living room. The cabin also includes a Smart TV (Netflix, YouTubeTV, and more—use your own login), a Bluetooth speaker, radio, and high-speed internet.

Outdoor spaces are designed for relaxation. Enjoy your morning coffee/tea on the cozy side deck, or gather for dinner and drinks on the large covered deck with its BBQ and dining table. Unwind in the cedar sauna (seats 4–6) with a changing room, or cool off with your feet in the crisp mountain water of Fawn Creek on a warm afternoon.

Location & access: Trails are just steps away. Walk 10 minutes downhill to the Lunachick trailhead or uphill to Lower Fawn Creek Trail and explore the Rendezvous Basin. Both connect to the 120-mile Methow Valley Trail System—perfect for biking, hiking, or skiing without needing to drive. Or, stay close to home and enjoy the serenity of Fawn Creek Hideaway in our climate controlled cabin to read, paint, write or pursue your favorite creative endeavor. The cabin is conveniently located just 3 miles from Mazama and less than 15 minutes from downtown Winthrop.

Plenty of space, well stocked with essentials, and the sauna was a nice bonus. Enjoyed coffee and dinners on the porch. Great location close to Mazama and the park.

My friend and I had the best time at the cabin. We loved being able to come back after a hike to a home cooked meal (with a baguette from the mazama store of course) - it was the perfect hideaway in between trailruns.

We hope people who rent Fawn Creek hideaway will continue to make hummingbird food for the feeder and the porch.

We love the quiet setting, the close proximity to some of the valley's beautiful ski trails, the cabin itself is warm, comfortable, spacious, with a great kitchen to cook in, the 2 bedroom/2 bath design is perfect, and the sauna is an extra treat! We absolutely love staying here.

Comfortable cabin in a great location for spending time in Winthrop/Mazama and exploring the North Cascades. The sun room with heated floors and dry sauna felt so nice after our hiking days.

The covered deck had a beautiful woodsy view and the place was clean and cozy. The beds were really comfortable, the grill was clean and ready to use with plenty of gas ready, kitchen basics (oil, salt, pepper, coffee filters) were provided, and checkin/checkout was clear and easy. We loved our stay.

My wife and I were looking for a long weekend getaway and we found it! Normally, we stay at Sun Mountain Lodge but since they are under new ownership, it’s been difficult to have the same experience that we were used to. This cabin has character and charm. The open family room and kitchen have a ski lodge feel to it. All we did was stay at the cabin and read, drink coffee, and sit out on either deck to enjoy nature. It rained for a few hours one evening to make our surroundings come alive with the sights and smells of a damp forest. In fact, it brought a dry creek back to life if for even just one day. We could see this being a yearly occurrence for us. Perhaps twice a year to experience a different season each time. We appreciate the owners sharing their cabin for all to enjoy!

Beautiful cabin with super fun hang out spots! Go here to get off the grid a bit and be as close as possible to North cascades and the incredible Methow River. Great shops and restaurants not far away in Mazama and Winthrop. We really loved your home! Thanks for making it incredibly comfortable for us! The vibes were awesome!

This cabin was in a great, quiet location east of N. Cascades. The mini-split air conditioner was very appreciated during a July heat wave. During the evenings, it was comfortable out on the front deck. The house was very clean and well stocked. We would stay here again.
