No SmokingThe Chalet is a spacious but cozy 2000 sq foot timbereframe home on 3 acres in Pine Forest. It features views across undeveloped acreage, from Patterson Mountain to the peaks of the Pasayten Wilderness. The trees on the property give privacy while being open enough for the interior to feel light throughout the day.
Pine Forest is an excellent location for skiers, hikers, and mountain bikers because residents/guests can access exclusive connections into the trails in the National Forest and the Sun Mountain groomed network. Guests will be able to use the owners' parking pass so they can drive .7 miles from the house to the Pine Forest Connector Trail which links to 'Blue Jay'.
Inside the Chalet you will find rustic yet stylish décor. The kitchen features good-quality cookware, small appliances, knives, spices, and dishware that invite you to cook your favorite meal, or just warm up take-out from Winthrop’s good restaurants. Serve up your feast at the beautiful pine dining table in front of the huge bay window. There is a cozy wood stove with wood provided.
If you want/need to stay connected while you are on vacation, you will appreciate the high-speed internet in The Chalet. Stream, Zoom, and email in front of the fire. (Note there is no cell signal so you will use Wi-Fi calling.)
There are two bedrooms and a luxurious new bathroom with a large tiled shower and double sinks on the second floor. The expansive master bedroom offers mountain and nighttime sky views from the memory foam queen bed. The second upstairs bedroom has a queen bed. A single futon and inflatable queen mattress can be set up in the master bedroom to accommodate groups of up to 7 guests. The main floor bathroom includes a tub/shower combo and also includes a washer/dryer.
No smoking, of any kind, is allowed in The Chalet or on the deck. Winter access requires studded snow tires or chains.

The Kitchen was wonderful. Plenty of different appliances and I never found myself wishing I had something.
The house is very well equipped with much more than most rentals would have. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils, pots and pans, and is a pleasant work area...well lit with wonderful views. I love sitting in the living room early morning to watch the sun rise through the Ponderosas. There is a large table in the dining area, and a smaller one near the kitchen for casual meal times. The neighborhood is quiet and very pleasant for walking....even up to the Chickadee trail system. The deck invites relaxing, listening to the birds and enjoying the view down to the Patterson Lake Valley. The shower is wonderful, and the 2 bedrooms very comfortable. It's nice to have an upstairs and a downstairs bathroom.
Loved the views of surrounding countryside. Home had everything required for daily life.
This is a great rental that feels much more like a home than simply a house. We stayed for a month and had everything we could need. Of particular note was the well-stocked kitchen with extensive cookware, gadgetry and serving dishes. We used the excellent wood stove daily, and there was plenty of quality firewood. We were drawn to the house based on the quiet setting, majestic view, and the many trail access points from within the neighborhood, and these were daily joys. The location was excellent. We loved hitting the trails everyday, both in the Sun Mountain system, and along the lake, daily. Highly recommend!
We loved spending a month here! The owners, Sandy and Craig, were so friendly and helpful and their house has everything we needed. This was a working vacation for us and their WiFi did very well through many a zoom meeting. We skied nearly every day and came back to a hot shower in their new bathroom and spent evenings around the excellent and easy to use wood stove. The views from here are beautiful! Family visited several times and loved it too.
